KOREAN RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/ 2 lb beef brisket, sliced

1 small pc white mushroom or choice of vegetables

1/ 2 tsp salt

2 tsp sesame oil

1 dash black pepper

1 head red or green leaf salad

2 bunches of green onion

3 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp red pepper powder (optional)

3 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp water

1 tsp chamkkae (roasted sesame powder)

STEPS:

  • For the salad: wash the mushrooms, green onion, and lettuce.
  • Drain water from lettuce and cut into thin slices.
  • Cut off most of the bottom part of the green onion, and cut the top portion into thin slices.
  • Put it in a bucket of water and let it sit for 7-10 min to get the hot spicy taste out of the green onion. Wash the mushroom and cut into halves.
  • Make the sauce by mixing salt, sesame oil and pepper.
  • Make the sauce for the salad, mixing all the ingredients. Mix the lettuce and onion together - put it in a bowl.
  • Put the beef slices and the mushroom pieces on the grill.
  • While the beef and mushroom are cooking, put salad sauce over the lettuce and green onion bowl.
  • Mix it around lightly, and serve with the cooked beef slices
  • Eat the beef with lettuce salad alone, or use the salt dipping sauce as an additional seasoning.
